quick question- my fan motor was not acting up, it worked fine last night.
When I started the car this morning, it would not work. When I turn the
selector, I could hear what sounded like a door opening, but the fan is not
blowing at all. Is there a fuse that I should check first, or should I
replace the resistor/pigtail? Im just wondering what else it could be?
Thanks for the great video.

Kim Sanchez says:

This is exactly where the resistor is located in my 1990 Ford F-150. Thank
you.

Hello, I have an 03 Ranger xlt. The blower has stopped working all
together, will a new resistor fix it?? The blower motor was acting funny
before it went out. Any help Thank you…….

James Laskowski says:

Ford xlt ranger….2000…blower motor stops time to time when truck is
shut off…tap

And restarted…tapped with hammer…works again ..bad fan blower?

Pragmatic Jim says:

Good video. It was much tighter in my 2004. One note, the “diode” is
actually a thermal fuse. Make sure that it is not touching the resistor
coil next to it, or it may blow prematurely.

Philipxican193169 says:

does this video also apply to a 2000 ford ranger?

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

the 1999 should also be the same. Ford was nice enough to keep the basic
chassis and electrical of the ranger the same for a long long time, so what
works on one year, will often work on a very wide range of years.

keytarpimp says:

Thanks this was very helpful.

Matt Lobdell says:

anyone have any idea where to buy a pigtail? is that a dealer part?

paulshields87 says:

Hey man nice video. It really helped me out alot. Nice details nice video.
All around great video thanks!!!

Auto Parts Direct To You says:

Yep, the 2000 should be extremely similar if not identical to this
procedure.

thanks an i take it its common with rangers this is the second time
replacing it but im gonna replace it this time

Make sure you get a NEW CONNECTOR/PIGTAIL AND RESISTOR!!!! THE CONNECTOR
WILL BE FUSED AND MELTED TOGETHER. THIS IS A FORD DESIGN FLAW. Thanks for
the help. A few tips for others. First of all the Mazda B-series is the
same. Remove the two screws first with connector attached. Then cut wire
half inch back from old connector and resistor. A faster and more
dependable wire connection I used # 14 Marrette wire connectors, heat
shrink tubing, nylon cable ties, silcon on each pair of wires.

roogermoore1 says:

This was a great. I bought the pigtail, and it had colored wires. But, the
colored wires did NOT match those on the old pigtail! Only had HIGH and LOW
for four years. Perfect video for me, thanks and keep posting

what about a 1999 ford ranger

maddogmatt44 says:

wont come off. how the fuck do you make it looks so easy?

NewShockerGuy says:

I have a 2001 ford ranger and just did this but didn’t do the connector..
