How to replace OEM manifolds with aftermarket headers on a Ferrari F430

How to replace the OEM manifolds on a Ferrari F430 with aftermarket headers.

As most F430 owners know, the stock manifolds are prone to failure and can cause significant engine damage if they fail. The best solution is to replace the OEM manifolds with aftermarket headers. This can be done with using only hand tools and a lot of patience… And beer.

A special thanks to Stuart and Gaz for helping me out. Without their help it would have taken me a lot longer.

Once again, Aldus Voice’s website was my primary guide:
https://aldousvoice.com/2014/03/25/ferrari-f430-exhaust-manifold-change/

Here’s all the various parts I purchased:
Phoenix Headers: https://phoenixexhaust.co.uk/products/ferrari-f430-series-stainless-steel-sports-manifolds-headers
Studs (16): https://www.ricambiamerica.com/211641-stud.html
Header nuts (16): https://www.ricambiamerica.com/210971-nut.html
Gaskets (2): https://www.ricambiamerica.com/211404-gasket.html
Collector Bolts (6): https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=5822
Collector nuts (6): https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=17708

You will also need all sorts of 12mm sockets, wrenches, crows foot, shorty wrenches, etc… Gather just about every thing you can. Plan on a full weekend to accomplish this project.

But the end results are amazing! The headers make a substantial improvement for the sound of the car, and increase the horsepower and torque by notable amounts.

Carlos Armenta says:

that thing sounds good no matter what…no check engine lights or stuff like that? gonna get it tuned?

Kiet Ngu says:

Awesome video Dan! Are there emissions test in Texas? I wonder if my car will pass CA smog after the headers replacement. I have the stock exhaust and cats.

Lakewood Ranch Allen says:

Dan thumbs up! Too much patience. I know it's fulfilling to do and see the results and props to you but shit! I would pay a pro or you.

ke0kie says:

torchy vs. TD…basically warrants a comparison video on your channel… ๐Ÿ™‚ I'll volunteer to rep TD, which I frequent here in big D!!!

Funny Video , 430 Greetings from Germany – I have the Capristo Headers in my Car , the same Shit to screw them out

Andrew Mallard says:

That looked one massive pain in the rear, Dan. What it means to have good friends to help in such a situation, but would you be keen to take the job on in the future, without their help?

GTpro says:

Wow. That wrap around the headers looks strangely beautiful from here. And holy moly the car sounds outrageous. Am I right that it sounds lower pitched now?

Anthony Romano says:

The Ferrari Dino came with a special hand ratchet to remove several of the Spark plugs…..Totally useless fact here. But you are working in a super tight space……Thought you might appreciate that little Ferrari fun fact ๐Ÿ™‚

THEglljr says:

Love the videos…I'm searching for a spider, but you've inspired me to consider doing some of the maintenance myself. Definitely going to put a lift in the garage. ๐Ÿ™‚

Heidi and Franny's Garage says:

Daniel, I really want to watch this. I saw you release last night. I don't know how you do it. Full time job, video releases every other day or even every day. It's impressive. I want to see how it is done. Too bad you don't live closer and you could use our lift! Heidi

MrKarKrazy says:

Love the videos and the car! Appreciate you taking time to document this all. I am also looking to purchase a F430;
however, many that I am seeing under the 110k range are junkers. How long did you search before you found yours? Additionally, how many owners did yours have? if you donโ€™t mind me asking. Lastly, any specific tips on what to look out for in the search for the F430, anything to run away from before investing into a PPI?
BTW – oil change video was my favorite, had me and the wife cracking up as we have had similar experiences. I highly recommend the Ranger Quick Jack, cheap and doesnโ€™t kill a ton of space.

Thank you!

Aren't you supposed to soak the wrap in water first?

Jason Grady says:

PB Blaster ot Liquid Wrench work a good bit faster than WD-40 for the next project.

Don't get rid of the OEM parts. The next guy will want them.

Way to GO!!!!!
