Ferrari 308 throttle cable replacement video

Here’s how I replaced the throttle cable on my 85 308 QV. You don’t need to remove the intake plenum, but I had it off for restoration anyway…which made this job easier (video coming soon). The deck lid being off also helped, but again…not necessary for this job. Please remember that I’m just an amateur mechanic and use this info at your own risk. Above all, be safe and enjoy!

You should also do a oil change video 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to post these videos Ian. The throttle end of the cable is indeed accessed from underneath the car on the carbureted cars. Eventually these cables fail and break… they are 30-40 years old of course and wire fatigues. The first sign of failure for me was the cable starts to feel 'sticky'. You might want to consider ordering a replacement clutch cable and keeping it in the car just in case… my two cables failed within 2000 miles of each other. The rear deck lid release cable also failed in that time due to metal fatigue.
