Part 12 of the Ferrari 348 DIY Major Engine Out Service. The Ferrari 348 requires the engine to be pulled every 3-5 years or 25,000 miles to replace the timing belts. Usually this also entails replacing many other components such as the tensioners, water pump, bearings, and pulleys. Typically this service starts at around $10,000 at most reputable shops, and can easily cost upwards of $25,000. We are going full bore and replacing almost everything that can wear so the engine will be almost as good as new and give Tim many years of use.

After our massive setback on the Ferrari 348 Major in which we smashed some valves in the engine, we got the new valves put in and got the timing set. FINALLY we’re done with the timing and get the major back in gear. While working on the 348, we take a quick intermission to fix my buddy’s F430 with a simple problem.

With a master mechanic watching over you who’s fault was it having the values touch the pistons?

Where do you get definitive information on servicing/repairing a Ferrari engine? Factory workshop manual?

I cant believe no one has NOT mentioned the resemblance for " soup nazi " from the Seinfeld show, for the mechanic guy. Lol

Spot on man. The mood sure is better than last video 🙂

You need to do break your videos into additional, short Recambi part specific videos. In case people are searching for these parts or these specific repair video clips.

This would make an awesome VINwiki story get in touch with Ed!

With all that talk (or should that be torque) of bolt stretch did you use new head studs? If not why not? Surely they were stretched from the original assembly.
