Yes the insulation, is to protect them from heat in summer , and to keep them warmer in winter, they even have them that's 110 blankets to plug in in winter, keeps battery warm

why didnt you put the battery insulation back around it? It serves a purpose doesnt it? why else would it be there? Do they sell the insulator piece?
