This is the most important step– Step 3: Evacuate the AC system using a refrigerant recovery machine… Follow the steps below…

MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure the NEW COMPRESSOR GOES in WITHOUT ANY STRUGGLE because if you do struggle to get it in- MOST LIKELY IT’S NOT THE RIGHT COMPRESSOR (check connections and make sure they are the same as the old/original compressor).

This video is about my Dodge Ram RT 2004 AC Compressor replacement. Always follow safety procedures.

Follow all federal, state, and local regulations when repairing an automotive A/C system.

Take appropriate safety procedures
Wear safety glasses and gloves
Recover refrigerant before making repairs.

Removing your old compressor:
1. Open your hood and locate the AC Compressor.
2. Remove the AC belt from the AC Compressor pulley.
3. Evacuate the AC system using a refrigerant recovery machine.
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Remove the bolt that secures refrigerant lines to the AC Compressor.
6. Disconnect any electrical connectors from the AC Compressor.
7. Remove the AC Connections. Remove the AC Compressor mounting bolts.
8. Remove the AC Compressor from the vehicle.

Now install the new AC Compressor and follow the same steps to install new compressor

Is the ac compressor supposed to spin then stop… then start spinning again?

Crash 369 says:

First of all you didn't video the removal of the freon gas, thanks allot. Then you forgot some bolts to remove and used the wrong tool for the removal of the unit then to make matters worst the part when you removed the compressor was cut out of the video and finally once again the replacement of the freon gas was left out the video, great editing you idiot ! p.s. don't make anymore videos for youtube.

Stanley Castoreno says:

Hey bro, why do you need to remove the refrigerant from the lines first? I’m about to do this job in the next day or so and my truck hasn’t had a:c in two years. Unfortunately, I don’t have a friend with a machine to do this and trying to keep costs low. Is it a matter of keeping things clean or is it vital to doing the job?

Cristian Iniguez says:

did you have to struggle with the fitment of the new compressor or did it fit in place easy
