So this is just a straight shock pull off, you don’t have to loosen any
other parts of the suspension to get the shock off?
We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this
repair in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Can you do a video on the front shocks for a 2002 Nissan Micra?
Thanks!
You will need to compress the spring and remove the top mount to replace
the strut assembly. They do also sell something called a quick strut where
you can just swap out the entire unit instead of having to compress the
spring and go through all the hassle of transferring everything over to the
new strut.
yes it would be nice if some one made a video for coil over struts. and
made the name of there video “strut replacement for dodge ram 2006” 😉 we
got it!!! removed the upper a arm ball joint, it gave us the space!
i have a 2008 ram that has coil over shocks.u said this video applys to 02
-08.any future videos on how to replace those?
my 06 is coil over…no 21mm needed two little bolts on the bottom in studs
Should be 02-05 years. The 2006 and newer half tons use a strut system in
the front
can you send me pics of your front suspension? I have an 06 dodge ram and
was wondering if I have to use coil compressers
We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular repair.
We’ll keep this in mind in the event that we make this repair in the
future.
Thank you for this! You saved me $100.
Great video, mine is an 03 Ram 1500 with the shocks inside the spring and
its was similar to this video, remove top nut, then 2 lower ones and shock
slips out the bottom, I replaced them a week ago with Bilstein and drive is
much better
I have an 07 1500 4×4 and it has the coil over shock system. this video
doesnt cover that. Also my service manual says ” All suspension components
should be tighteded with the weight of the vehicle on them. Having the
suspension at curb ride height when torquing bolts ensures good ride
characteristitics and longer bushing life by preventing excessive “wind-up”
of the bushing. “
Hey can u show me how to change a struts and shocks on a newer dodge charger
Excellent.. keep up the good work…
got an 02 durango 4×4 can i do the same
For the fronts, you will need a spring compressor to get the spring
separated from the shock.
I have an 07 dodge ram regular cab 4×4. I replaced the rears and am ready
to do the fronts. However the front struts on my struck have springs also.
is this common on the ram? would i need coil compressors?
What about if the shocks are inside the coil spring? How can I do that?
