Too bad nothing is mentioned about how to disconnect the wire plug from the fuel pump. It is very tricky to pull it off when you CAN'T SEE THE ACTUAL U SHAPED HOLDER that holds the plug on!!! You don't just take the (unnecessary) red safety insert out. That doesn't release the plug.
Have a 2002 Dodge caravan. My son changed the fuel pump , but still not running. So I checked the voltage at the fuel pump only getting 4 volts. I checked the old fuel pump with a 12 volt power source and found it to be working, did the same to the new one and it works. I'm thinking there is a bad ground but don't no were to look for it. The battery ground has been cleaned up but still only 4 volts. Checked contact and it's good . Van will start with a squirt of starting fluid so ignition is good. Checked voltage at junction behind driver seat 4 volts. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

how long would this job take?? if necessary to go to a mechanic what would be a ball bark price???
where is the fuel presure regulator on dodge caravan 03 is it on the fuel pump assembly or on the motor fuel rail. its pushing out heavy black smoke. i took out plugs heavy black with gas its flooded. so i figure fuel presssure regulator or bad ecm
