HOW TO FIX LEAKING EXHAUST MANIFOLDS – DODGE 5.2L 5.9L MAGNUM

HOW TO FIX LEAKING EXHAUST MANIFOLDS – DODGE 5.2L 5.9L MAGNUM

In this video we show how to fix leaking exhaust manifolds for the Dodge 5.2L and 5.9L Magnum v8 engine. Your exhaust manifold or headers might be leaking and this is a common issue on these engines. We show what we used to seal up the leaking exhaust manifolds on this truck engine by usings Remflex gaskets as well as hardened ARP exhaust manifold bolts so that this exhaust will not leak exhaust gases anymore. This should be the same solution for all Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Dodge RAM, and Jeeps with this 5.2 Magnum or 5.9 Magnum v8 engine.

I have the exact dodge but mines a 2000 SLT. I've been watching every video and doing what you did. My headers were glowing red so u bought new manifold gaskets and they still leaked so I bought the reflex they were cheaper and no leak! But still they glow intermittently enough to burn my wires and a hoke in the bottom of my air filter box.:(

Hey can you please respond how would it feel and accelerate heavily from a stop when you had a leak ?

I have a 97 dakota slt 4×4 V8 short bed single cab. Its a very fun truck to drive. Also the awd 01 durango rt.love some older dodge trucks! I need to fix a leak on my dakota passenger side gotta do the same thing its stock manifolds though.

Love the channel man it's good stuff. I always liked these trucks so when I saw you get one for cheap I figured I could too. Found one for cheap that had some issues like a bad water pump and exhaust leaks. Nothing I cant handled. Turns out the truck I got has been around the block and back. Spent a few years in the wrong hands I'm thinking also. The headers on this thing have been rubbing the control arm for some time now. They didn't even bother to put the bolt in the collector that is on that side. Trying to decide what it's worth to fix. Used manifolds for now or just clearance the header with a hammer? I need to do all the exhaust gaskets anyway because it leaks into the cab pretty bad right now. I've never had headers on a vehicle before so is that bad shaping them around things or will they most likely break before I get the clearance ? And I'm only asking because I see you reply alot. Thanks man!!

I used cheap gaskets on my R/T also and it leaked. I have had Remflex on my Ram for 3 years with no issues.

Project A.D.H.D says:

I like that your showing the small changes, and the before and after times. Real world scenario for most of us.

YES, REMFLEX AND DONE
