Unless your bumper is sagging like crazy, this does not work. You cannot fit your hand in to get the clips on after. Had to remove my whole bumper.

@aaronculli5792 says:

Seems easily enough

@eivad1 says:

Yours is a lot different than my 96

@streetsofsouthphilly says:

My drivers side headlight is doubling as fishtank. I'll use your video to replace it. Thank you!

@TheJoeScarafoneChannel says:

…..what's for dinner, squirrel on a stick? Geezuz…..

@jskerrt9431 says:

Ima just pull the bumper off

@joeybishop7604 says:

I did mine without having to take it apart like you did.
All I had to do was remove the plastic bumper cover.
I reached the bottom bolt from underneath the bumper

@georgecrutchfield9850 says:

Very similar, but not the same as my 99.

@bobnoble5713 says:

They test light with bulb that comes with it

@peterschmidt2849 says:

What’s the bulb #

Very well done. Thanks for sharing.

@jim_outdooradventures5146 says:

Thank you. Saved my bacon. Wondering if I had to remove the bumper or the side panel.

@stevebusby6618 says:

Thanks for such a detailed video and the tips. Having never done this before, it took me about three hours to get both headlights done (two hours the right one and one hour the left one). Without that little tidbit of information about removing the clips to get each piece out and in separately, I probably would have thought I needed to remove the bumper. For the one screw on the bottom inboard, I found it's almost as easy to get to by coming up from underneath with a 1/4" drive 3/8" socket. But it is hard either way. My left light was doubling as a fish tank. But all is good now. Thanks again!

@countyguardtruthinlaw7827 says:

Saved me a lot of frustration. I KNEW this thing wouldn't simply slide in… you'd think they would have some simple instructions with the assembly, but NOOOOOOO. Thanks.

@OmaniCotler says:

put a lil motor oil on ur black plastic trim it will look brand new

@Kamui32 says:

Really need that headlight bulb retainer clip thingamajig. Anyone got a part number?

@GameOverFiles says:

How is the difficulty level of doing this for someone with not much mechanic experience? Also I see a plug but does it require electrical knowledge?

@SugarMilkbro says:

With the rubber seal, you don't have to pull the pins out and reinstall them. You can actually just hook them on the bottom side of the hole in the rubber, and pull up to stretch them over. I couldn't get mine out without breaking them lol

@whuthefuckdonkey says:

Thank you for this. This is good intel.

@collectivesuniverse says:

Love it lol great video, I’m going to order and replace mine soon, I would’ve never thought it would be this in-depth

@laura-ann.0726 says:

The 1998-2001 Cummins Diesel Rams, with the VP-44 injection pump, even a 24 year old one, are definitely worth a set of new headlights. If your truck is still in decent running condition, hang onto it until it explodes or just falls apart. Replacing it with a new one will set you back at least 50 grand, assuming that you can even find one to buy any more. My '98 Ram Cummins has the same problem as this one – the headlight lenses are practically opaque. No water in mine, but the light output is practically nil.

@jeffmalone7524 says:

This guy is making this much harder than it really is. Remove the 3 bolts pull it loose Remove the bulbs slide the light to the center and lift the entire assembly out.

@therealjeffboomhauer4528 says:

If anybody asks, I’m telling them that Sam Elliot helped me fix my headlights.

@meredithguest3417 says:

Awesome. Thank you.

@guesswhooldtimer2358 says:

Gotta keep these old trucks running. No particulate trap, no DEF. How’s the beam pattern? That’s what’s important to me.

@24vcowpoke says:

dog reminds me of sam Elliot

@marcusholtzheimer9316 says:

Lmfao that ending was great

@Qualls_MD says:

that blinker fluid really needed to be changed lol
