Awesome truck My friend

mash740 says:

Just bought a 1951 dodge one ton.. Was wondering if you run straight
unleaded in your truck?

yourbeekeeper says:

According to my GPS, the governer keeps it at 47MPH. I got this truck in
2002, got it reliable and serviced and drove it up to The Ranch in
2004…all 242 miles without incident. . . . . It was the best of times..it
was the worst of times. I was plain worn out by the time I pulled into the
drive.

Veikra says:

My friend in australia has one of these dodge. teal blue original. Working
condition with new rubbers all around

mustie1 says:

l like that color combo, if you were to paint it,,now how about a burnout,,

fire48pw says:

I sent you a video response. I hope you decide to use it. Thanks

Pete The Farmer says:

HI, that’s a nice dodge truck. I really like it. My dad had a dodge like
that and said it ran real nice and was always a tough truck. Nice video,
Pete

Dam cool truck I had no idea it had all that stuff

LRCVWDude says:

So my guess is the old Dodge’s top speed is about 40 or 45 before you worry
something will go ‘pop’. Either way i bet friends nearby get a shock when
you come around the corner in that 😉

Veikra says:

that’s a draft tube. It’s the earliest crankcase ventilation system

Mopardude says:

The similarities and differences between your 46 and my 42 are pretty
interesting! Do you know the exact model that truck is? Do you know if that
dump bed was an addon many years later? The design and build of it doesn’t
seem like its from the 40’s. Also does your engine have a tube that comes
out of it on the passenger side towards the back of the block about half
way down and it angles down towards the ground? If so do you know what that
is for? Some sort of early PCV system?

yourbeekeeper says:

It’s a mountain truck. I take it out on the highway and to friends houses,
but the nearest town is 25 miles away so it would be a chore just to get it
there and back.

Mopardude says:

That’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure. Seemed weird cause the oil fill
tube is vented too. Thanks for the clarification!

balboahigh1999 says:

would dig taking a ride in that truck

yourbeekeeper says:

I feel you on securing the dump bed. If you take a close look at 4:19, I
have a 3″x3″ square steel post in between the hydraulic cylinders. I fit it
in there, then slightly lower the bed so it has a little weight on the post
to keep it in position..and if the hydraulics were to fail, there would be
no drop. I never work under anything lifted that is not supported…even if
it’s brand new. I’m really sorry to hear about your friend.

yourbeekeeper says:

Thank Jeff, I am still amazed when I look at cars of this era…I think
back in History as to what was going on in the world when this was rolling
through the production line. This old truck is a survivor. Thanks for
watching.

krazy45cat says:

Steve that truck looks like the Bees Knees :)))

Ram Francisuk says:

Very nice ;))

yourbeekeeper says:

Not even close.

yourbeekeeper says:

Pretty crazy what they put in a work truck.

yourbeekeeper says:

I have fun driving it around because it’s not my primary working rig…and
it’s very good at hauling a LOT of heavy stuff.

TheSoloAsylum says:

so yeah I’m just seeing this video. Be careful working with that bed up, I
lost a friend that way. He was crushed between the front wall of the bed
and the back of the cab. We had to raise the bed back up to get him out.
You dont forget things like this….so brace that bed up for me will ya…

Graveltrucking says:

Take her for a drive into town lol. It is a Williams Hydraulic pump in the
old Dodge they are a common hydraulic unit as you have the reservoir, pump
and control valve all in one unit. Good luck in finding replacement tires
trying to find 7.25-20 tires lol

57WillysCJ says:

Can’t beat that old Dodge, except maybe the suspension. Looks like you are
riding a pogo stick. Of course those old seats had a lot of give. I have
those old turn signal switches. One on my 57 CJ5.

thisoldguy64 says:

nice old truck, thanks for the videos.

yourbeekeeper says:

You’re very welcome. Thank you for watching.

yourbeekeeper says:

This old girl has done a good amount of hauling around here… Takes
whatever I can put in the bed and asks for more. lol. Thanks for watching.

yourbeekeeper says:

haha, Town is 25 miles away. It goes out on the highway on the mountain
though.. when I go visiting… It’s quite a show-stopper. I can find the
tires… they are just expensive. These will do just fine for now. lol.

yourbeekeeper says:

You know it Gerry… it’s really the Kats Pajamas! lol

ih1206 says:

haha we got a 88 r model mack for a farm semi and its about like riding a
pogo stick running empty. that spring suspension sucks!

yourbeekeeper says:

Hey CJ, Nah, I closed that page down. Too many distractions and had to cut
a few from the herd.

yourbeekeeper says:

They are getting hard to find.

yourbeekeeper says:

He is 10.
