How to replace the Temperature or Recirculation Blend Door on a Chrysler Family Product

Angled Screwdrivers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HDJGV92/
Part Number: AA-113800-2640 or 68018109AA (Search Google for it, I stopped linking parts for Journeys on Amazon a LONG time ago)

***DISCLAIMER*** Apologies if the title may be clickbaity, but this is for the blend door that sits by the blower motor and the cabin air filter. I thought it was for the recirculation door (and it should be, since trying to turn it on when disconnected won’t let you turn it on).. however a Google search says otherwise, possibly even for the temperature blend door.

So with that out of the way.. how’s it going y’all? If you ever got the dreaded click-click-click-click-click-click noise on your Chrysler family product, and it seems to come around the blower motor area… then stay tuned, since I’m going to show you how to remove that actuator!

Unfortunately I couldn’t get the two back bolts on cam.. if it wasn’t for the fact that I may be missing one anyway, it’s due to the fact that the space is so tight, I couldn’t get a camera in there! If I had a full colour boroscope, I *may* be able to pull that off, but until then… I can’t show it off, and you’ll have to feel around for the screws.

This Blend Door Actuator replacement will work for the Chrysler 200 (2012-2014), Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango 2008-2009, Chrysler Sebring 2007-2011, Dodge Avenger 2007-2014, Dodge Caliber 2010-2012, Dodge Express 2010 and 2011, Dodge Journey 2009-present, Jeep Compass and Patriot from 2010-2017, Jeep Wrangler from 2011-2018, 2016 RAM 2500, and 2014-2018 RAM Promasters.

Donald Burt says:

if someone can tell me where the heat actuator for the driver side of a 1998 Dodge Grand caravan is located that would be a big help

Thomas Seibold says:

Is "blend door actuator" a blanket term, even when the part is used in places that don't "blend" air? For example, this part number is also used on what I'll call the "mode actuator," which directs the air up, down, or straight through the vents. As I understand it, this isn't "blending" air–it's simply redirecting it.
