Big help for me. Gotter done. Appreciate you mentioning the nut and bolts sizes. Did not have to remove the shroud on mine. Thanks for posting. 🙂

When you have the right tools working on cars is actually therapeutic

Tony D says:

the right description of a screw and a bolt, bolt has a nut, a screw don't

Marso 13 says:

Just a tip.  Leave the car jacked up, the wheel and dust cover off after installation.  Start the car and check the alternator for proper voltage output or you will have to take everything back off if it is not where it should be.

Followed your video and everything worked great.  If I were to do this again, I would buy a serpentine belt tool kit.  I was able to get the belt off, but it was a bitch to get the tensioner back into position without the proper tool.  I was able to make due but struggled to get the pulley forward enough to slip the belt back on.  I will definitely invest in the proper tool for any future projects.  Thanks for the great video!

This is a great tutorial and will probably save me hundreds of dollars that I don’t have to pay a mechanic, thanks.

Logan Reid says:

Is it really required to remove the EGR valve or does that just make remove and installation easier?

Patrick Joseph says:

Best video on this job! Good lighting, etc. If you have to take it to the repair shop, plan on $500 minimum.

I replaced my alternator and everything worked fine. But the next day when I tried starting my van, it had no power. It was as if the battery was removed. Autozone checked my battery and they said that it was good. Even though the battery is showing 12.6, it still has no power. Any suggestions?

Alex Figueroa says:

Very nice video and well explained. Thank you!

Tony Richardson says:

Very detailed explanation and easy to follow in a step by step guide. I LOVE the fact that you DON'T do an excessive amount of talking and kibitzing. If I wanted entertainment, I'd go to another channel. I'm just trying to change an alternator NOT be entertained. I haven't done the job yet but I feel confident now that I can get the job done. I had some concerns about the belt tensioner but now I know how to relieve the tension. I will let you know how the job turns out. Thanks in advance

Ed Delos Santos says:
