Whats the extra o-ring for i only used one? One was slightly bigger.

Mike Sutherland says:

Thanks for your video as it helped be to do this job on my mom's 300. Two observations. Brake cleaner to decontaminate the area, and pull the reservoir off of the pump without removing pump went well. One O-ring was removed. Replacement reservoir came with 2 O-rings of two different sizes. Oh-oh. I only installed the one that was the same size. I hope that larger O-ring was not supposed to fit outside of the groove. So far, no leaking.

C Willz says:

Could you have only took the reservoir off instead of the entire pump or does it all have to come off?

CRW Sr says:

I am having power steering issues with my 2012 300C as well and it's only for 56000 miles on it. How did you determine that it was the o rings in the reservoir as opposed to it being the entire pump?

Rick Speck says:

Great video Oz. I did this yesterday to my Chargers EHPS. Found the part on Amazon for about $40 and some change. The part is available from other suppliers too. The price can vary a lot. Amazon was the least expensive. I used CHF 11s fluid. I had to ask for it at the parts store. It wasn’t on the retail shelf. Make sure the fluid you use is a type MS-11655 or equivalent. This is the OEM fluid recommended for the Dodge electro hydrologic power steer pump. Another types of accepted fluid is Fuchs EG ZH 3044. There are some aftermarket companies making fluids. One fluid I read about is Quantm Blue. The maker claims it is a superior product. I don’t have any info about it. I went with OEM fluid. Good luck to anyone trying this. Take your time and follow the video.

Any certain procedure to bleed the system?

Desiree Johnson says:

My power steering is hard to turn help I have a 2011 Dodge Charger

Ivan Gutsan says:

PLEASE HELP. My 2012 Challenger RT leaked out the power steering fluid and I got a "service power steering" message. The vehicle was towed home. Now with the leak fixed and pump installed. The pump won't engage in order to bleed to system. I've checked fuses and all connection plugs. The error message is still displayed and can't be picked up and cleared with a regular OBD2 scanner. Do I need to have the dealer reprogram/flash the pump? Thank you so much in advance
