Chrysler 300 8.4 RB5 RE2 Uconnect touchscreen repair (How to)… Part 2

As promised here is part 2 of the Chrysler 300 8.4 RB5 RE2 Uconnect screen repair video.

Video is a bit long, but I tried to be as thorough as possible and not skip too many steps so that you can get an accurate depiction of what this job truly requires, which is mostly a lot of patience and care and a few simple tools as you saw.

This entire repair cost me a total of about 175 dollars including the screen, the heat gun and the tape. Which is hundreds less than any quote I got to repair my screen.

If you’re having these same issues with your touchscreen or you have a damaged or broken screen, now you can see how it is done and like I mentioned in the video, I had never replaced any touchscreens before so if I was able to do it I am sure you can too however, I am not responsible for any further damages your screen may incur by following the instructions on this video. Try at your own risk.

As always thanks very much for watching, please give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.

All footage filmed and edited by me with my personal camera and computer.

You think this screen would work on a 2012 Chrysler 300c? And if so can you link where you got the screen?

It looks like what you're replacing is maybe the digitizer? I've got a 300 S and my screen has actually started to separate. I suspected it was the digitizer "peeling" away from the screen and have been doing some research and I'm certain that's my issue. The car is still under warranty and the sorry ass dealership where I live says I must have damaged it somehow. Chrysler isn't being much help at the moment either.

How has your replacement held up so far? Also is there a reason you didn't just buy the whole assembly so you could just go the plug and play route? Was it strictly cost related or do you know of any issues that would come with using a different screen? I've read that a lot of the components in these cars are locked/married together. I wouldn't think there's much you can do to a screen regarding that but who knows what these guys will set up to make sure you have to get repairs through them.
