Today I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ with a Chrysler 8.25 rear axle housing. I will show you how to remove the axle shafts. Check the backlash and adjust it if needed. This is a simple video showing you the theory behind backlash and what it does. I also show you how to take the cross pin out of the carrier to get the c clips out so you can take your rear axle shafts out. I explain how to replace the rear axle housing wheel bearings and seals. As well as go over the torque specs of the carrier bearing caps and correct backlash setting specs. This will cover the 1997 to 2001 axle range.
