Man, I miss my mama's plum 67 SS! 327 Powerglide 2 speed! Buckets! No Caprice/Canadian Impala cornering lights, but it was gorgeous!

My first car was a ‘68 Impala 4-door, with a 2 barrel 307 with a two speed power glide. I bought it off of an elderly lady named Mrs. Wamsley. I paid $800 for it in 1982. It got me through four years of college. I sold it for $700 after graduation. I have never seen it since.

In the 1970s my dad bought 3 year old Impala convertibles and drove them until they got too rusty in upstate New York. I bought a 1969 Chevy Impala hardtop 4 door with a 328 cubic inch V8 in 1975 for $200 with lots of rust and 60,000 miles, when I was 16. It had a 2 speed automatic transmission and got up to 12 miles per gallon on the highway. I drove it 5 years and the main work it needed was a valve job. The guy I sold it to drove it several more years, until the doors got too rusty to open and close well.
Next fix to that Impala? Remove that Confederate Flag rear license plate!
Odd, I don't see a Corvette so that's an inaccurate title. But I love me a fat man sedan so good enough.
