Bought a used 2001 Chevy truck a couple of weeks ago with a very squeaky belt. So now you have a video on how to change the belt!

Other vehicles with a similar method to replace the fan belt…

Silverado 1999 – 2006
Sierra 1999- 2006
Suburban 2000 – 2006
Yukon 2000 -2006
Avalanche 2002-2006

The video also shows something wrong by the fan belt area. Can you guess it? No it isn’t the cut in the top shroud.

Just used the video to determine the proper belt path. Original stickers were missing due to panels that were replaced from prior accidents.

thanks m8! just changed my belt, 5 minute job on an 05 sierra 1500 with the 5.3. I actually didn't need to remove the manifold from my throttle body as there was adequate clearance. I also turned the "other" counter-clockwise to loosen the tensioner 😉

Bill Dozer says:

"turn the belt tightener counter clockwise to loosen the belt enough to remove it"…the other counterclockwise ya knucklehead! WOO WOO WOO WOO…….
