Thanks for the overview. I had two things go sideways in an otherwise smooth copy of the video. The rear clamp on the orignial regulator was still attached to the window and I missed that when I removed the old one. When I installed the new one it ran up into the old clamp and that messed up its ability to go all the way to the top of its run. I removed the new regulator and plugged it into the power supply and the door into its power supply and ran it up and down its length and that reset it. I then reinstalled the new regulator inside the door and things worked with that aspect going forward. The second thing was minor, but when reattaching the door handle cable, there was flat tab on one side I couldn't see clearly in the dark even with my headlamp on and part of it snapped off. Everything seems to function ok testing the automatic and manual locks so it may not be an issue, but both things are little gotchas to watch out for.

Hilarious… I searched for Volt help, but been watching you for about a year now for my 944 help. You and I have great taste, lol!

Thanks for the Video! It gave me the confidence to handle it myself.

Watched your video a couple of times to prepare myself. I ordered the part from GMPartsStore. They were the cheapest, but there customer service JUST SUCK, they never reply to emails nor voicemails. The order took a week to fulfill and then 2 days to ship. I was worried until I got the part in hand. I also found just the plastic clips and got those as well. The process was a piece of cake. Glad I got the entire assembly because when the old plastic clips broke and the window fell into the door cavity, the cables and motor got all messed up. The new GM part went in like a champ. Got the newer version (driver side front door: #22938326). BTW, one Chevy dealer quoted $250 for the part. Another quoted $500 labor + $150 parts. I spent $110!

Just finished my driver's side window… I was a little hesitant, but it works just as described. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Not sure how much money you saved all of us together but I know it is a lot. I bought the part from Napa $111. I then called 3 places to get install quotes, the lowest was $140. so did it myself with your help. – THANK YOU!

Does this happen a lot with the Chevy volt?? Firestone is charging my mom 450$ to fix a “broken window track” after the diagnostic test her check engine light came on

mark karoub says:

Thank you, that was an excellent video and like others have said saved me a bundle of dough.

Ben Hardin says:

Awesome video, super easy to follow. Other than an issue where a piece broke off and my cable got wrapped around something and my window was getting caught halfway up, the entire process took less than an hour. $130. was the cheapest I could find the regulator after hours of searching, in case anyone's wondering, purchased from eBay.
