Ray Pope says:

I am on my third resistor, I also have the auto climate feature on my 04
trailblazer. I bought my resistor from advanced auto parts and the first
one did not work at all, the second one worked for about 15 minutes and
then went back to being stuck on full blast and would not turn off even
with the vehicle completely off and no key in the ignition. The only way to
turn it off was to unplug either the fuse in the fuse box, or the resistor.
I just put my third one in and it lasted for about 30 minutes before it did
the exact same thing. The only thing I can think of is maybe it is
overheating because when i plugged my second resistor in, I did not have
the time to reinstall it into its place, so I just let it hang there for
the ride home. I plugged the third one in in the parking lot of the parts
house as well and did not reinstall it into its correct place. Could that
be the issue, or do I just have the worst luck ever with these parts?

Scott Schnabel says:

Just finished this job on my ’06. Thanks for the video. You made it easy.

Harpreet Singh says:

Where can I find the exact resistor as shown in this video? This resistor
shown has 3 wires coming in and 2 going out to the motor. Whereas all the
new resistors shown look different and has 7 wire pigtail. Please help!!

Hi I recently replaced the blower motor resistor and the connector harness
and at first it worked fine on all speeds for about 45 mins, but now it’s
only working on speed 5. Would I have have to replace the fan switch?

mike hurst says:

Bought a resistor from another website… not even the same thing. Where
can i get the same resistor as seen in this video… I have looked
everywhere…please help

1A Auto Parts says:

Usually when a blower motor resistor goes you’ll start to loose the fan
speeds. We carry new ones on our website for both automatic and manual
temperature controls. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Frank Parks says:

I have a 2003 Trailblazer and the speed control acts on 4 & 5 but not 1,2
or 3. Is this a issue with the blower motor resistor? If so how much does
this component cost?

mred305 says:

Thanks for this post, just what i needed..!!!

@1aauto I’m having a mode switch problem, the a/c works but only blows

MrHazbing says:

We have the same issue in 04 Trailblazer. The rear AC went out and back in
the passenger side cargo area there was a constant clicking. We pulled the
panel way just far enough to unplug a connection. This stopped the
clicking. It looked like this connected to some type of fan – we couldn’t
get the panel off far enough to get a good view. Is there some type of
regulator in the back panel or what kind of relays are you talking about?
Thanks

Ernesto Serrano says:

Need your help wondering if if this will help my issue. I’m not able to
control the speed out of my vents and when I turn the trailblazer off the
heating seems to continue on.

1A Auto Parts says:

If you have lost some of the lower heat settings, it may be the blower
motor resistor.

LadyCatAnne says:

This video showed us how to entirely fix the problem in my trailblazer,
thank you, thank you, thank you!

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to see if the door actuator is working correctly inside of the
tube. There also may be something that’s clogging it, preventing the air
flow.

Shane Conde says:

The blower on my 05 Trailblazer keeps running after the car is off. I had
to discount the battery for it to turn off. Does that mean the blower
control module need to be replace

I have a 02 Chevy Trailblazer and my ac/heater won’t work unless its on

Thank You ! Exactly what was wrong. Great vid. Keep them coming.

Alex Waletski says:

I have a 2004 Trailblazer and my fan works except at the 5th speed would
that part you replaced in the video be what I need?

1A Auto Parts says:

It should be the same way as we show in this video, or fairly close to it.

TheKirkenjerk says:

@1aauto The blower motor resistor? Or another resistor all together?

jusbkool says:

Thanks for the video…..really helped. I also needed to remove the
Glovebox door (3 screws) and that gave me a lot more room to work with.

1A Auto Parts says:

There is normally a resistor with that as well that can cause a trickle of
power to the motor. It sounds like you might have a few issue compacting
each other at this time

1A Auto Parts says:

@nyaj5478 Many times when you start to loose the speed settings on your
panel, it’s caused by a bad blower motor resistor.

Kevin Cody says:

I’ve a 96 Blazer, is the resistor in the same place, pls? all the C/heat
speeds work except the very highest and it was 109 here today so thanks for
this video. Best regards

I have a 03 and my air blows at the top and bottom vents but “NOT” the
front vents! It also only blows on speeds 1-4 “ONLY”!!! On speed 5 it just
turns off. Will changing this resistor fix the problem? Please HELP!!! It’s
hot as hell where I live lol…

Jason Burke says:

Thank you! Instructions and video were great and only took me 20 minutes to
complete. Great job!

gmv74 says:

what is the part number on the resister for a 2007 trailblazer?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the plug end on the wire that provides power to the
blower motor. It may need to be replaced. The blower motor could be going
bad which might be causing this issue. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

It kicks on. Its fully charged. Sometimes when my ac would start up there
would be this squeling coming from the fans. Now the fans won’t come on and
there is voltage going to it.

TheIndustrialrocker says:

I have a 95 Chevy S 10 and my fans for my A/C went out. I can feel it make
cold air but I have no fans and the blower doesn’t start. What could be
causing that. A/C is a must in the louisiana heat.

Thanks very much for the video, it helped a bunch. Truth be told, the
hardest part of the entire replacement (besides contorting myself) was
getting the wiring harnesses out of the lower panel!

i have a 1993 cadillac fleetwood, i normally keep the fuse out for the hvac
spot in the fuse box, but when ever the fuse is in, my a/c stays on but

ever since that problem, my car over heats faster than before, please help

Zrenjaninac says:

Hello, thanks for the video. I have a similar issue. My ’04 Chevy
Trailblazer ext has an issue with the fan. AC stopped working a long time
ago but now the fan won’t even work. If I put it on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…it
won’t turn on. However, sometimes, if I put it on 5 right away it will turn
on and work for a bit. I looked up the problem and ended up going to buy a
resistor (has a green square thing on top) and trying to replace it
now..hope I’m doing the right thing and that it’s that part? thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

You might have two different issues going on here. Usually when you start
to loose the speed settings it’s the blower motor resistor that needs to be
replaced. If the vent is stuck on defrost there might be a broke, loose or
disconnected vacuum line around the firewall or on the motor, you may also
want to check under the dash too. It could also be a bad actuator in the
system. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

slb5150 says:

Thanks for this video…Did this repair yesterday, and it took me about 20
mins. Now, all fan speeds work good as new.

1A Auto Parts says:

Usually when you start to loose the speed settings on the control, it’s a
sign of the blower motor resistor going bad. We carry new ones on our
