This is gold. Pure gold. Thanks
After watching this, i paid a thousand dollars to have a licensed mechanic do it. I pulled the tank out of my old nissan king cab. Never again.Really dirty job. .

Jesse Murray says:

you have a video for 07-08 and another for 10-13. What about 09? is it pretty much the same?

Joe CNC says:

Liked and subscribed – based on other videos that I've seen for this same repair job – this is the best one, and SAFEST one out there.

I am putting a 5.3 vortex in my 55 Bel Air. It is out of a 2006, half ton, 4L60e trans. Will the fuel tank need to be pressurised?

Derek Vargason says:

I you don’t have a lift and the tank has a bunch of fuel in it, removing the bed makes this very easy. Just leave the tank in, and use a fork lift and straps or 3-4 guys to lift the bed off the truck and it’s right there easy access (not hard at all). Just remember the wiring on the tail lights needs to be undone (also very easy).

Where is the fuel filter on a 2015 Silverado 5.3

Notonebuttwo Othman says:

I’m in MN my mechanic is asking me to buy new fuel lines before he changes the pump he claims they will break when he pulls them out !!
I’m confused

Tino says:

great video, what did you use to clean inside of gas tank?

MG Smith says:

Thanks for the video, it really helped me on my project

fabs 2k17 says:

So the fuel pump doesn't sit right in the tank you have to push it down to lock it in place?

M hoskie says:

Fastest way. Just remove bed bolts tilt up the front of bed, and walla!!!! the pump is right there. No need to be dropping the tank and emptying it… 🙂

excelerater says:

one of GMs more stupid ideas. No fuel filter to maintain..Just a strainer on a pump the truck owner is forced to change when stuck on the road from pump failure

what is the part number for Chevy Silverado 2010, 1500 V8 4.8L fuel pump

Would appreciate it if you could possibly give me some input…

I have a 2009 Silverado with around 12,000 miles.  Yesterday I remote started it and when I went outside fuel was gushing out from under the driver's side running across the drive. IMAGINE MY SHOCK!!  I found the rubber fuel line from the tank to the steel line leaking at the 90 degree fitting that connects to the steel line. On inspection it felt like the rubber had basically gotten brittle and crumbled.

I know the truck is 8 years old but with just 12000 miles on it I was surprised this happened.  I had a 1985 Silverado with 140,000 miles and never had fuel line issues.
I did replace the fuel pump once.

Q1; Have you heard of this, is this a common problem?  I'm thinking this is a MAJOR fire/safety hazard.  I'm just glad I wasn't driving down the road.

Q2:  Could the ethanol gas have caused this?

Q3: Is the 2009 Silverado tank removal basically the same as the 2010? if not what should I look for?

Q4: Would you recommend replacing the emissions line too?

Thanks for the very informative videos you have.
Any input is appreciated.
