Very precise and concise, I slipped under the truck just yesterday just to see if there was anything else to repair while I replace the u-joints (as soon as weather permits) and noticed a leak at the joint. Did not know how to do it. Your clip is very helpful! Will replace it while I'm down there. Thanks!

Absolutely outstanding!!

You got some solid tips here. Love the vacuum on the slip yoke. The can on the seal was pretty slick too. I have one to do and will be adding these to my playbook. Thank you

Exactly what I'm looking at with my 04.5 Silverado. Thanks very much for a short, sweet and fully informational video. I had a professionally rebuilt transfer case last summer and now I've got fluid leaking out of what looks like the seal area. I'm taking it back out to my diesel mechanic (the shop that installed the transfer case) to see what he thinks. But if the fix is this easy, I might do it myself. Although it's in the teens with ice on the ground out there. Thanks very much! Very helpful and not over my head.

Noticed my rear transfer case was leaking. Definitely going to do this to my 07 Tahoe. The seal is only $18 at autozone. Thanks for the video and gonna have to sacrifice a can of beans for this. Haha

I have an 07 (new body style) Sierra 1500. The front transfer case seal keeps leaking. I’ve replaced it 3 times with a GM seal. Hit everything with emery cloth and made sure there is no burrs but it’s keep leaking. Any idea?

Jesus Ber says:

Same problem out of my 2008 gmc sierra 1500 2wd but my slip yoke has a hole in the center. Should i cover the hole with rtv gasket maker as well?

Brian Tawney says:

What about the metal sleeve that goes inside the transfer case? It’s like 3 inches long. How do I put that back in? It seems a bit tight to force.

Awrench Productions says:

Brilliant man! I'll be doing this in my gmc tomorrow

Cazadores Norte Americanos - North American Hunters says:

Thanks for the vid. Did you use any particular grease?

Anthony Rodriguez says:

Hey thanks for the video! I was just curious on how to diagnose that it’s just a leak? My Chevy Tahoe 1999 transfer case is leaking (I think) the service 4WD drive light is on and it makes a noise when shifting from park to drive etc etc. please get back to me thank you! (Subscribed)

I'm facing pretty much the same thing <2005 Silverado 6.0,/3/4 ton/4×4 although, there is a very small amount of leakage, I am getting a vibration between 42 mph and 55 mph, then it smooths out, same as if you drive below 42 mph, nice and smooth. I am concerned about just changing the seal and not the bearing surface the yoke rides on as well, the Driveshaft seems quite tight, maybe a couple thousands of an inch play. I could sure use some help here as that is my only means of transportation, at 70 years old walking any kind of distance is not possible. Thanks so much!
