A high failure rate of the small auxiliary battery in the trunk of the Chevrolet Malibu Eco models is the most common cause of a check engine light associated with the P305F code.

Had the second battery in the trunk replaced twice already and they only last about two to three months anyone else experience this?
Do i need to erase the code manually or does it go away after driving a few miles ??
Great video. I have a 2016 Malibu LS and the check engine light came on and I noticed that the auto-start system quit working. I guessed (correctly) that it was the battery in the trunk. I have not replaced it yet as it just happened two days ago. Now onto my question. I really dislike the auto-start. Will any damage be done in any way if I just don't change the battery?
I've bought a new aux battery light is still on do you know what it could be?
Nice job on the video. You explained the issue very well.
News flash I've changed auxiliary, main battery ,modules and alternator , had wiring ckd ….not by shade tree mechanic but supposedly knowledgeable certified trained chevy mechanics dealership. Car is crap, dealerships fleecing at its best. My daughter has Cruze and had similar problems. Wouldn't suggest either to anyone.
Same on the Impala? (2015)
Thank you this saved me time and money
