Personally wouldn’t buy one. Love the classic K5. That said, I don’t think Scotty knows much about car manufacturing or manufacturing in general coming out of México.
México has been a big player in terms of manufacturing and you can get a lot of high quality parts remanufactured in México. Thing is GM designs are crummy.
You can’t blame manufacturing when the products used are designed by GM. It’s the product development and lack of quality parts supplied by GM that is the problem.
You can get most everything built or rebuilt in México. It just depends on who you know. I have first hand experience with the process and know people in the business. Scotty just doesn’t know enough to have an opinion on the subject. I would bet money he would have his pants knocked off if he were to get a tour of a manufacturing facility. His opinion seems to stem from GM blunders, but manufacturing blunders don’t always fall back on those building the cars….

PT cruiser is an unreliable car because it is a Chrysler not because they were built in Mexico. Chevrolet’s are crappy cars wherever they are built( Mexico, USA or Canada). Scotty should admit he hates Mexico, it’s ok just accept it.
Scotty, the 1991-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Z-34 has to be the worse GM product ever made. The twin cam v6 loved to eat timing belts every 20k
