thanks for your video.. My 94 Suburban heater core gave up this week at
288,500. Not looking forward to the job. BTW I picked out your accent
right away. I grew up in South Jersey right outside Philly.
good video it showed exactly what needed to be one. I also liked the touch
with your grandson. We all have had a time where we have someone asking
more questions on the basic level and sometimes the kids simple question
and your answer may help someone a little green at the wrench.
where the computer at on the 2001silverado 2500hd ?
Kind of comical…………….Just for shits and giggles I watching this
video and my daughter calls me and tells me her heater core is leaking!
Guess who gets to fix it tomorrow! a 95 blazer.
Thanks for your instructional video. Greatly appreciated !
Thanks for the Video
Very enjoyable and informative……I even learned sumpin…!!!!!!!!
I noticed on your cost comparison, no labor cost.. I know what my time is
worth and
yours is probably more “cuz your good” so 50$ per hour and it took you??
hours
because of too many “INTERRUPTIONS” ( which you handled quite
CALMLY)……..LOL
Thanks for your help and keep making those videos!
the part I needed was the re install
Get on with the goddamned install we dont give a shit about your shop and
all that
I have an old “91 Chevy 2500, that I was about to put in the shop and have
them change the heater core, don’t know what made me look this up, but sure
glad I came across your help, It was way easier than I imagined…with your
help of course! Thanks Buddy!
YOU and all Chevy truck owners are welcome…… Its one design that Chevy
did right since 1972…..I wish all Cars were as easy to fix as Chevy’s
were from the beginning to 1972….they went down hill from there
it’s thanks to guys like you that make other people’s lives less miserable
I have a chevy Silverado 1990 &never thought it was that easy thanks a
bunch… god bless you man for sharing this knowledge…
thanks….gotta do a water pump next.
@camaro69ss350 ….. Good Luck
Youre right…the truck might even go to half a million miles if I take
care of it….however I need a Dually and some extra room to carry more
stuff….come get it, you can have it.
Corrosion …. The heater core is normally made of aluminum and non
distilled water or well water has a lot of minerals & iron in it that will
attack soft metals….this is why they want you to run Antifreeze and
Distilled water only, in your cooling systems. You can read this info on
most Antifreeze bottles.
Cool…yeah its an easy job!
At-A-boy
So you’re saying you can hook the hoses up in any order?
@Veikra ….. I forgot to mention the REBATE on the Antifreeze…… heh heh
damn ive been procrastinating on this cause thought it was a pain but that
look easy
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to post it; you saved me a lot of
time.
Mine needs changed also, keep pushing it off because past ones in other
vehicles i had to replace were a pain in the butt..I’ll have to try it out
ITS VERY COMMON to buy a used car or truck with NO HEATER HOSES ON
IT……opening your hood and seeing NO hose on the heater core says…the
heater core is bad and somebody removed them so it wouldn’t leak into the
passenger compartment..Its a No Brainer……There are only TWO HOSES that
go to ANY firewall on ANY car or truck that contain water for a heater.
I noticed a puddle under my floor mat, but haven’t noticed it in a very
long time? When replacing do I need to drain all antifreeze or no?
I didnt…I drained the complete cooling system…so nothing was in the
lines.
Thanks a bunch sir, This video helped me and my dad save nearly 300
dollars. Great video.
Thx alot this helped
400-43 bucks is 357 not 367. 🙂
good vid! I have a 2000 tahoe limited (SS) 2wd 5.7 vortex…246,000 and my
core finally went out today…now my 2000 is before the body style change
to the rounded fenders…my set up looks just like yours so what I’m asking
is will this vid relate to my tahoe too? I sure hope it does!!!
video was great. thanks!!
Awesome vid! thanks buddy!
some dummie disliked this video….. …heh heh..thank you for being on my
side.
Great video mate, mine us a little different being a right hand drive but
thank you again you saved me a heap of time !
So what would a fella do if he got the pick up with the hoses disconnected?
Is that common as opening the hood?
Thumbs Up
Im wondering if the 1999 is similar. I build a 66 f150 from the tires up,
so I guess I will just find out haha =)
@firebull02 …Wish You Luck My Man!
the main thing i don’t know how to do is “bleed it” and i dont know which
hose to hook up to which side. because when i got the truck it didnt have a
core in it and the hosed were hooked together, so now i got a new one and
dont know which hose to hook to which part. so if anyone could help me out
i would really appreciate it.
glad it helps….the screws are little hard to get to but….its all down
hill from there…easy job
glad it helped……youtube can be great at times
@Veikra …. NOPE…. My 1998 2500 Chevy has to have half the dashboard
removed! Not even close to my 97 under the dash…… ummmmmm
