General Motors Holden here in Australia kept milking our government for money promising to not shut down but they did not only that the cars were made of poor quality from the mid 90's onwards

I am so glad I bought my GMC with the standard 6 speed transmission. I put up with the Allison Transmissions in the Military, they couldn't figure out what oil to use in the new M900 series trucks. They had some with 10 weight oil, regular transmission oil, the 6053 Hydraulic oil, and GL90# oil. When we first got these vehicles we had all sorts of trouble with the transmissions, but not 2 of them that had regular transmission fluid in it. The couple with GL90 wouldn't go no where when it got cold.
I had made up my mine no more automatic transmissions. You can bad Chevy, GM or GMC all you want but you can't give me any other vehicles because I have worked on vehicles since 1957 and still do. A ford is a rich man's nightmare and a mechanics nightmare. Example is the stupid 3 bolt starter, that's just the beginning and the list goes on. A dodge or chrysler is 3 times worse to work on. Usually I can work on any GM even blindfolded. So I will live with my GM
You don't need no 8 speed transmission. A 6 speed auto was already too much. But.. Yea that .04 MPG improvement with 8 speeds…..

If the lawyers running the Class action transmission lawsuit want a better chance of winning, they need to request a "change of venue" which means that they want to have the court case held in another jurisdiction ( another location.) In this case – away from Detroit or even away from the State of Michigan.
