2001 Chevy 1500 Heater Core Replacement Part 1

2001 Chevy 1500 Heater Core Replacement Part 1

Windows fogging up with defrost on? Strong smell of antifreeze through the vents? Wet passenger floor board? I hate to break it to you, but you gotta bad heater core…
This is my attempt at removing the dash, with more detail than any other YouTube video i found. I’m sure this is gonna be a chore, so watch for periodic updates

Good video and yes it's a pain in the ass but if you would have taken the setting wheel out and loosened the bolts on the column it comes all the way out and you could clean and paint all that nasty stuff in there. All the metal is rusty, Sharpe and ugly. Costs $5. Well worth the time. Or you can continue to do it like a hacker. I like to make stuff just a little bit better than it was.

Little too much talking, talk as you work so viewers can have a detailed clue to what you are saying as you are showing your work so they can learn what to do a lot easier and do the job a lot quicker!

it s me …:( …i turned the heat on tonight and my windows got all fogged up with that stupid film and the smell of coolant, everything smells like coolant. i checked the passenger side floor and saw no leaks. i know that just because there isn't a paddle of water doesn't mean that the heater core is not the cause …anyway i think this job is just too big for me. i will watch the rest of the videos anyhow… i hate chevys…

Hey I have a couple questions I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 v8 it runs extremely rough at idle or first start and then when I drive it's fine but it's so rough that my aftermarket exhaust rattles what could be the problem I cleaned the throttle body I replaced spark plugs and wires and I'm about to clean the maf sensor. And my heat doesn't seem to work that well but I don't smell any coolant and my passenger floor board isn't wet what could it be?
