Where is this same module on the drivers side? Is it a different plug?

jeff ullmer says:

Found the 30a fuse in rear fuse box burnt. replaced it, I have cooling fans and heated seats!  now- ths is all after watching RK's awesome vids, repaired my module and I replaced my melted connector with a ford harness repair kit.  soldered wires up. replaced fuse, im back in action!  thank you RK!  and thanks to ski who fixed his and helped with ideas and what fixed his!  any body  can do this and you do not need to remove the seat!

what is a fair price to pay to have someone fix it for me?

John D. Lewis says:

Hi R.K., I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your video tutorial–this helped me immensely with my 2008 DTS Luxury II, which suffered from the very same problem. My repair experience was a little different–my connector melted a little more than yours had, the female pins wouldn't release, so I ended up lopping everything off and starting fresh. (I bought both the 12 and 14 guage pins as a precaution and was sure glad I did!) Additionally, while a little confined, I was able to do it without removing the seat–there was just enough slack to work with to pull the wiring harness forward and work in front of the seat. My knees and shoulders took a little bit of a toll, but at 35 years of age, I suffered through it. I had it done in 45 minutes and it tested fine. Additionally, I tested the +12VDC line (pin E, in yellow) and it remains hot at all times. My advice for those about to tackle this: I suggest carefully isolating the +12VDC line from the rest, and make sure you seat that in the new connector first to avoid touching it against any other pins, followed by the ground line and then the remaining 14 guage wires. Most of all, be patient, take your time, and you'll be pleased with the results!

Thanks R K for your excellent video! It saved me a tremendous amount of money by not having to go to the dealer. This video was my exact problem and vehicle. Thanks again, Ski

Excellent instructive video. I also have a 2007 DTS. I posted to the Cadillac Forum back in January of this year stating that my front and rear seats heat intermittently. The front also have cooling. For the past several days the front driver and passenger have not been working either heat or cool. Usually there is a slight fan sound when the seats are working, but not now. The rear seats (only heat) appear to be working.
Several of the forum posts suggested to check the ground wire integrity. Usually found under the driver seat. I have been unable to find any ground wires under either seat. Did you find any?
I plan to reproduce what you did in the video as soon as I buy a 50 Torx bit. They have a nice set at Harbor Freight, about 20 miles from me, for $9. I would, however, like to find the ground wire just in case it may be loose. It makes sense to me that if the heating/cooling works intermittently then a loose wire may be the culprit. What do you think?
Thanks again for sharing your experience and I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,

thank you for posting this. mine went out in escalade '08. I am going to get parts and try the same. appreciate it!

jeff ullmer says:

Ok.what  kind of crimp tool do I need to replace all my pins?

jeff ullmer says:

Got my new connector and ground pin, original retainer melted to connector, I will need to cut wires and replace all pins. any idea on how many pins I will need? I think in your video there are 2- 14g pins, are the others all 12g?

jeff ullmer says:

Hey, Mine burnt the 14g ground wire in the connector< I ordered connector and ground pin today, 1.68 plus 4.00 postal shipping. I believe I can make the repair with the seat in the car.  The module looks fine.

jeff ullmer says:

Hey guy , my 07 DTS did the same thing. I feel good about trying the fix, after watching your awesome video!  Thank you for such great detail.  Jeff
