Sounds like a pressure issue. Check the fluid level “pwr. ster.” to see if
it is properly filled and also not too dirty. You can use a suction tool of
any kind to remove the old fluid from the resovoir and refill with new, you
wont get alot out but run it for a second and repeat the process to get
some good clean fluid in there. If this doesn’t help, you are probably
looking at a new pump or rack.

Alright Cadillac House said fill power steering with Transmission fluid , I
flushed out before I put transmission was very good for a couple drives
then started getting tight again, Don;t hear any noise though. Theres is no
leak anywhere so I’m stuck now….

hey 2012nugget, love your tips on cars. i am starting a timing chain job on
a 2004 cadillac cts 3.6l . watching your video gave me the curage to give
it a shot, plus finding out the price to have put in the shop. i noticed
when you did the video and all the components you pulled. can you tell me
what all gaskets and seals need to be replaced they come in a kit? thanks
so much!!

2012nugget says:

Check to see if the fluid level has droped, indicating a leak somewhere. If
not, flush again as stated above, several times to replace as much old
fluid as you can. This time however disregaurd what they have said about
trans fluid and install the correct pwr. str. fluid. If the problem percist
after this process you may have to seek out a reliable tech for diagnosis,
but this is a much cheaper way and very well could solve your issue. Good
Luck

ok well i just added fluid because it was not reading anything on the dip
stick. I mean turning while I break is hard. If i take Traction Control Off
then its not as hard but its hard to park next to a car.

drodriguez2011 says:

Have you had any problems with the steering. Usually turning at low speeds,
even trying to reverse out of garage?? Higher speeds I have no problems

2012nugget says:

You should check, crank, shut down and check again to be sure it’s full. If
it is and you dont have a little winey noise from the pump jack up the
front to verify it is a pressure problem and not a problem in the front
suspension.

Alright 1 month and a Half later the Steering is now fixed. The mechanic
had to put a new steering column, pump, pump hosing, and another part that
aid in steering. Mechanic said there was a piece had shattered and broke
all into hosing and pump of steering. Now the issue is the fuel pump.
Mechanic keeps hiding the problem because the dealer does not want to pay.
So now I got to find what to do about that ?? Only had the car a total of a
week. and purchased in Sept. 🙁
