How To Replace Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid- P0013, P0119, P0011 | 2012 Buick Verano 2.4L

This was an easy fix that cost me less than $30 and less than 30min. My car’s check engine light came on a couple weeks ago and upon diagnosis it gave me a P0013 code which directed me to the camshaft solenoids. A few days ago my car began to run a bit weird and the menu inside told me AC Off due to engine temps, and my temp meter remained flat cold the entire drive home. I diagnosed again with the FIXD tool and another P0119 code came up, telling me something was funky with the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor. I read on another’s YouTube video comments that once he replaced the camshaft solenoids, the sensor issue resolved itself too. I’ll leave links to the parts and tools used in this video below.

GREAT VIDEO. MY SON'S CAR HAS BEEN BURNING A LOT OF OIL AND THE AC WOULD ONLY WORK SOMETIMES. DID YOUEXPERIENCE THE OIL BURNING ISSUE?

William L says:

Someone suggested disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to restart the computer. Light should be gone after that if the solenoids were the issue.

martytime march says:

So do both intake and exhaust need to be replaced to clear the light?

Good video!
