In this video we walk through the OEM steps to change the battery on a 2018-2024 Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse. One common trait for modern vehicles is to give you a bunch of service engine light codes at the same time when a battery is going bad as the computer is shutting down non-essential systems to keep the car running. Since there are so many systems in these modern cars, this is one of the early telltale signs that a battery is going bad so you can replace it before it strands you on the road.

Although some part stores may still try to replace the battery for free (most wont since they have to remove other components) the part they don’t tell you is their battery cost more than what the factory GM battery cost when buying online via Amazon and RockAuto. You can buy the factory GM AC Delco battery for $100+ less than what the local parts stores are charging for aftermarket batteries. This process is the same for various other GM vehicles with the GM 3.6 engine including: Buick Envision and Lacrosse, Cadillac XT4, XT5, and XT6, Chevy Traverse and Blazer, and GMC Acadia and Terrain.
