This 2016 Buick LaCross has it’s 12 volt battery in the engine compartment and there is a large fuse block attached to the top of the battery. Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture’s step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on.
The use of a memory saving procedure will keep the vehicle’s computers memory’s alive during the battery replacement procedure. Refering to our Memory Saving video will provide you with various memory saving procedures that can be used according to vehicle manufacturer’s requirements. https://youtu.be/vSP3ShcaFgQ
Some late model vehicles must have the 12 volt battery registered with the vehicle’s Battery Control Module or Computer after replacement. See these videos on Battery registration and coding for more details on the procedures at https://youtu.be/TGKohKZHzr0 & https://youtu.be/cxOK_DczRGg
Always wear safety glasses and gloves when working with or near batteries.
Awesome video definitely helped me change my first battery today. Made me look good lol.
LaCrosse (don't forget the "e"!!)
The music is annoying, but the steps were very clear.
awesome! quick and easy.
A note for newer vehicles, if your vehicle comes with a Battery Management System (BMS), you will need to reprogram your BMS even if it is the same AH (if it is the same AH your car just needs to know that it has a brand new battery in order to provide it a proper full recharge, however if it has a lower or higher AH or if you are switching from lead acid to Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM), you will most likely need to reprogram it then too).
AH = Amp-Hours = 1,000mAH (m is milli)
Very detailed. Just what I needed. Thanks
what happens if you dont use a memory saver
Thanks. Much needed refresher. Such a hard battery to change.
Thanks. This covers my needs for my 2011 Buick Regal.
very good video
Such good video .. I have a 2011 Buick LaCrosse cxs I need to change battery but I not sure if I want to do it.. can I reset the memory my self and how ?
Thanks. Helpful video.
Does this work for a 2016 buick regal turbo?
Why do the engineers design things so hard to change? So many bolts to remove. I just wanted to find the manufacture date code so I can tell when the battery was replaced since I bought the car from a man who kept no records.
Thanks so much
