The only reasons I would EVER buy another GM like this one would be if it was CHEAP and I needed a beater. GM loads on the features, which are nice, to disguise the fact that you are getting a mediocre vehicle.
Cool video, Tyler!! You saved yourself A TON OF MONEY!!
I do agree that a lot of things, including GM cars, aren’t what they used to be. It seems that quality seemed to decline, at least from my perspective, in the early-70’s, with them loading on all that emissions junk and downsizing engines. With their recent bankruptcy, hopefully they’ve learned their lesson. Competition does build better mousetraps.
Thanks for making videos on this. I need to do this to my Regal when the weather gets better. I have never soldered anything in my life, guess it is time to learn! Sure beats paying the $300 I have seen these go for. My DIC / Odometer is getting dim as well, that should be fun to take out without damaging anything.

Not sure I can solder these, but I appreciate the video and the knowledge that comes with learning how to fix it.
Yep. One whack job was sure it was the wiring.
I’m sure people were bitching about no climate controls. So that should help it sell. In fact it might be a selling point if its such a common issue!
