Yep that's Modern BMWs for you. The only good thing about those E64 6 Series were those N62 V8 engines and transmissions were solid but the rest of the car super high tech. The only worst problems on those N62 V8 engines had was the valve stem seals due to not changing the oil religiously every 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 miles because when most of those cars that were dealership owned did those stupid 15,000 mile oil changes which is stupid because at 70,000 miles that what killed the valve stem seals as well as the 2 PCV valves but the worst problem was the OEM coolant transfer pipe that would fail after 40,000 miles.
This is why I like my i4 engine. Dead simple and reliable

Exactly, I buy Toyota, then BWM, then Mazda, then back to fun stupidity BMW.
I owned a 2010 328 straight 6. It was a good car mostly and I did my own repairs if possible. But that sucker hemorrhaged oil and went thru coil packs quite often. Someone rear ended me and totaled it out, I bought a Nissan Frontier and will never buy another BMW.

I saw 2 of these for sale for no more than $2,000. One was a 2006 that has a 2008 V8 engine swap that doesn't work and the other one doesn't start for some reason… Mechanic special. I would get one, but I'm not trying to destroy my goose egg.
I still miss my E30. No electronics on that one.
If you like working on cars every weekend then BMW is for you.

2013 3 series x drive. 99,800 miles…has not spent one day in the shop. I just did the brakes last month, plugs and coil packs…and 2 sets of tires and oil changes every 5-6k. Yea, I changed the oil, one headlight, the brakes/plugs and coils myself..really no different than any other car.

So Scotty I need to get this right this is a 2006 year car that is actually over 16 years old.Regardless that it’s a BMW the thing is there are few vehicles out there on American roads that are 16 years old or more. This car is not a good example of Deterioration. We have plenty of Camrys and Nissan sedans out there from 06 to 09 that are really BEAT UP and look like crap especially from the outside
