If Your BMW Engine Makes this Sound, HERE’S HOW TO FIX IT!

Mann Oil Filter: https://amzn.to/2EsOOYc (double check your fitment)
Recently, my BMW 330xi started making this weird whining or howling noise. I could tell the sound was coming from the engine bay, but where?? My first thoughts were the alternator failing, or maybe a worn pulley bearing, since the whining noise was coming from that general area.

After doing some digging online, I came across one single YouTube video where someone had the exact same sound from their 325xi. The comments on that video pointed to the oil filter.

I thought that was such a strange thing, but then I remember that I was using a different brand than the normal Mann filters that I usually use. Sure enough, I did an oil change with a Mann filter and the noise is GONE!

I found a solution to fix all the breakdown and here’s how

Hi, Phil Swift here with Flex Tape! The super-strong waterproof tape! That can instantly patch, bond, seal, and repair! Flex tape is no ordinary tape; its triple thick adhesive virtually welds itself to the surface, instantly stopping the toughest leaks. Leaky pipes can cause major damage, but Flex Tape grips on tight and bonds instantly! Plus, Flex Tape’s powerful adhesive is so strong, it even works underwater! Now you can repair leaks in pools and spas in water without draining them! Flex Tape is perfect for marine, campers and RVs! Flex Tape is super strong, and once it's on, it holds on tight! And for emergency auto repair, Flex Tape keeps its grip, even in the toughest conditions! Big storms can cause big damage, but Flex Tape comes super wide, so you can easily patch large holes. To show the power of Flex Tape, I sawed this boat in half! And repaired it with only Flex Tape! Not only does Flex Tape’s powerful adhesive hold the boat together, but it creates a super strong water tight seal, so the inside is completly dry! Yee-doggy! Just cut, peel, stick and seal! Imagine everything you can do with the power of Flex Tape!

Scott Segal says:

the crazy thing about e90 oil filters is the OEM filter is by far the best over these supposedly made for bmw filters. sometimes non oem filters will even throw a code.

Well played! What oil do you use and how much? If you don't mind me asking. I no longer want to take my 330xi to the local dealer. Last time it went in for a service it came back missing screws.

Kies Motorsports says:

Mahle, Mann, and Bosch are all good choices for your BMW.

ChrisRoberson23 says:

Collapsed oil filter can also cause intake cam excessively retarded code, poor idle, and drivability issues. I've also had great results with wix oil filters.

Adam Henderson says:

Not sure about your area but advance auto parts in my town sells Mann filters. Just a heads up for future reference(s)

Khurrum Adnan says:

what about Mahle filters?? are they ok on these N52 engines??
