Stephen Pipkin says:

I have a 2016 cruze similar hose lower radiator hose top portion goes on fine bottom is hell doesnt seem to wanna go once is lined up

Steve Francis says:

Two things to add on. 1. Be careful when pulling out the clips (especially over the engine) as they might fall down inside where you cant get to them. 2. Sometimes one side of the upper and lower hoses might have the u ring and adapter inside and may come off when you pull out the hose. Be sure not to drop and loose them. If would be nice if you could show them how to properly reinsert them.

Christoher Caton says:

I’d of put a new o ring in

so ive seen your vids and asked a lot and youve been very helpful and thank you for it! just did a guide install. my issue now is that my radiator hose will not slide to click on the water pump. plastic hose end, metal water pump end. ive matched my new water pump with the old and everything appears the same. same width and length. hose will not slide on. ive removed both o rings from the female end with the clip. it slid on a little further but still stops before i can get it on enough to make that snap ring click. it feels like something hard is stopping it. ive tried using a baby basher hammer and towel to protect the plastic. it just dont go on. ive removed the rings to see if they were the culprit. i guess it was part of it. ive pulled the snap ring out. no matter what it doesnt go in all the way. for mine theres no slots to line up. just a pin that goes in a hole on one side. the pin will go up to the hole but not in.

Cary mcdonald says:

When it comes to 'fittling' a compression 'o'-ring in ANYTHING, I've used 'Windex' (not any other brand). Why? It's clean; dries absolutely residue free, slick e'nuf for the job. WD-40? While one doesn't 'see' damage, doesn't mean there isn't any.

John John says:

These will rub on your alternator and bust… I just got a 335i and on the way to inspection it busted due to a old hose rubbing on the alternator pulley

john doe says:

Great info and video what type of coolant you use in here Prestone or BMW coolant ?

Charles Riggens says:

that was helpful even tho I drive a 2006 jag, same issue… thanksanks

Gregory Lee says:

It's expensive if you have zero dollars and you gotta fix that shit
or stand in front of the store for 2 – 4 hours for a 20

Andrew Milton says:

Oh man I am having the hardest time hearing the “click” on my car. It’s not getting secured properly idk what to do help!!

Johnnie Horne says:

This video is also good for the Jaguar 2003 x type. I have been looking for information like this for months. Thanks for this video.

Victor Mercado says:

How hard can you push without breaking anything? I'm pulling pushing fairly hard and it's not going on

Merlyn Owl says:

Garbage design. Then talks crap about the band clamps….the only good thing in the video.

Duncan Taylor says:

Thanks so much, the trick about cleaning O ring saved me. Much appreciated. Thanks again

The Melons says:

Nathan, there are 2 plastic beveled rings along with the rubber O ring, that were inside my bottom radiator hose, on my 04 Audi A4. Do you know the sequence they are all installed in? Thanks, and great vids.

Martin Gerard says:

Thanks for tips on the proper way to use these clip hoses. I had the lower hose pop off doing it the way you show, fortunately it only cost me $30 in more coolant! I wish I had seen your video before. What a sense of security to hear that click, knowing the hose was securely installed. It made me appreciate the German engineering rather than question it. Also coolant as a lubricant works great and obviously is compatible.

Jeremy Westwood says:

hi im having difficulty inserting the lower radiator hose back to the radiator outlet ive clean the o ring then spray with silicone spray but still it cant sit in properly im thinking if the o ring or those notches blocks when i pushing it through i give it a slight gorilla force just to push it but im cautious that i might break the radiator outlet. i really dont know what trick should i do to connect it properly please help me. thank you very much.

i clean opening of the lower hose multiple times tried wd40,silicone spray, pour hot water thinking the gasket might flat a little bit? but i cant push it all the way i even use coolant and oil on the opening of the hose just to slip it in the radiator input but no luck tried pushing aligning with the notches keep trying i even use sand paper on the surface of the radiator input still cant go all the way. btw i used my old radiator hose didnt got a new one.

Jeremy Westwood says:

hi nathan im having problem sitting in my lower rad hose to radiator outlet i keep trying pushing i mean really pushing but i cant get in sit in all the way im getting leaks got overheat too. i re use my old lower hose thinking i dont have any issues re using it ( i change the sensor) what can you suggest for me to sit it properly i dont want to use gorilla force cause it might break something. what i did so far is to spray it with silicone spray around the opening of the lower hose thinking it might help to slip those o ring to the radiator outlet. thank you.

Victor Borisoff says:

any advice on how to remove this hose? mine is stuck

Mike Gaskins23 says:

Great video thank you

Jordache Ubraj says:

I figured Hot water does the trick and save some in the kettle for a cup of tea.

alan6832 says:

why do hose clamps work everywhere else and not on the plastic fittings? is something abnormal about the hose barbs on the plastic fittings such that they don't work with hose clamps? you said the plastic sometimes goes oval? so it should be replaced (after 130Kmiles in my case) along with the hose anyway? even if the barb is normal? they definitely do sell molded hoses without the fitting. My 130k hose actually looks fine to me, which speaks to the quality of the factory coolant.
But I got a bigger problem which I found more common in the Northeast where I grew up and that is it's stuck together, as if the last guy used superglue instead of WD40, but it's more likely rust or minerals from hard water. I can usually figure out how it goes together once I have it apart but came here to learn how it comes apart before forcing it apart. After pulling the clip, the hose pulls straight out, right? it doesn't unscrew at all? I have nothing much to pry against and pulling straight out does nothing? what next? leave it in 'til it bursts? replace the radiator? hire a strong man?

emigrate says:

WD attacks rubbers.

Joseph Gadberry says:

Looks like the exact hose and fitting I'm trying to replace. How do you remove it without damaging the plastic part? The other end pulled right off.

pablo principe says:

Thank you…i couldn't put the hose back to radiator…too hard ..i cleaned and a little oil and was easy ..thank you

George King says:

thank you learned how to do those ones
