Hey guys. I bought just the o-ring on eBay for $5.25 and it has a lifetime warranty! https://www.ebay.com/i/191999273424?chn=ps

Cruz Soto says:

Where did u buy the o ring and what size is it

n8neiTen8n says:

Hi, what was the problem? The engine was working funny? Like an old diesel with 1-cylinder? Because I have such problem and no idea if this is caused by Disa valve.

Kolin314 says:

Never mind I see the link below.

Kolin314 says:

Can you tell me where you bought the o-ring? Or the size?

Chubby says:

Really is simple to do it. PLEASE DO THIS IF YOURS BROKE. Don't pay 250 for this job which takes you an hour at most. Seriously. Anyone can do it!

I rebuilt my Disa valve on my e39. However during removal of the Disa valve, I noticed that the Disa unit smells of gas and wanted to know if that is normal

MoparViking70 says:

I'm going to be getting the kit in the mail soon. I'm glad to see the repair is so easy. Thanks for posting the video. If anyone doesn't know already, this valve can cause a vacuum leak when it goes bad and give you a rough idle that can be bad enough to cause misfires. You may have codes related to a lean condition and misfires. It can also cause a lack of power during acceleration and, in worse case scenarios, drop a piece of itself into your engine and ruin your engine. It's recommended you just replace the thing about every 70k or so.

Brimstone says:

Great video except for one thing. You should never spray brake cleaner on the DISA assembly. The brake cleaner will degrade/destroy the O-ring.

Stev Rex says:

Great video, thank you for posting this! Makes my repair all that much easier.

Blake B says:

Very good! Much better than the DISA video with the leatherman. I see a lot of use of needle-nose pliers, which in my opinion is not necessary. Although I am above average with my finger tactility and electromechanics are starting to become an area of moderate experience for me.

My DISA was rattling at 1200 and 1900 RPM so I decided to take a look. I still haven't bought any new parts but with your video and other videos for reference I was able to get back on the road today with no rattle. Thank you, Erz pacs.

Derrick Winckler says:

does this help for idleing rough?

Fernando Desimone says:

Thks, nice video and great instructions.

Erz pacs says:

Hi Max, here's some helpful links regarding the symptoms:  http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=611798
If the Flap is broken and the pin is gone, you need to go to your local mechanic asap, it might destroy your cylinders worst case…

Erz pacs says:

thanks Rene and Halfway01…

Rene Nyfeler says:

Very nice step by step instruction.

halfway01 says:

Max Tremblay says:

nice work, Im about to do this and your video was helpful. What were your symptoms when the valve broke? My flap is broken and is no longer attached to the pin. The pin is gone completely
