TheEqualizer says:

Do not clean vanos solenoids, it will only be a temporary fix, they clog up inside and can’t be fully cleaned, Do not try being cheap on vanos solenoids, only use bmw, the vanos system is a critical part of your engine and if you be cheap on the vanos you can and will get engine failure, you have been warned.

i cleaneed these yesterday, just got a bone stock 335i 6 speed e92 fully loaded but keep getting engine malfunction at 4k rpms. if i baby it its fine even after the engine malfunction it runs smooths. i checked the charge pipe and hoses and nothing. cleaning the vanos solenoids did help the rpms a bit more, before the rpms will just surge a tiny bit you would only notice if you stared at the rpms now that they are clean just stays smooth in one spot. im at a loss what else can cause the engine malfunction my scanner doesnt pick up any codes
