No you don’t have to, you can go off the factory system using a line level
converter.
Did you use the stock head unit? And if you did what parts did you use in
order for it to work?

I don’t remember to be honest. We tested the wires in order to find them.
You can use a site called the12volt com to find vehicle wiring. You should
test and verify as well though.
Which factory sound system do you have? Is it the same method for HIFI
professional?
