Nick Good says:

You dont show how to get the plastic shield off that covers the front
bottom, including the oil drain plug.

The Car Life says:

Synthetic is recommended because it doesn’t break down as quickly as
regular motor oil. However, both oils get dirty at the same rate.

The Car Life says:

You’re right, most are the same but some cars have a few differences. For
example my M3 has two drain plugs for the wet sump. That is unusual and
slightly different. I have a follow up video to this where I show how to
turn off the service interval light. The intake tube is part of the
Conforti kit. It comes with the heat shield, intake tube, rubber seals,
hose clamps, and the ITG foam filter. I still have the MAF sensor and it is
located at the tube opening behind the heat shield.

AJM0201 says:

do you warm up the oil a little before draining? or drain it with the
engine cold?

Ms45forlife says:

Not bad had the e39 never changed oil my self on it can i use a regular
engine oil or sentetic

The Car Life says:

Well…I’ve read a lot about Sea Foam and I’ve never seen any major Pros or
Cons. Some people swear by it while others say it doesn’t do anything.
Honestly, if I use any type of additive it’s usually a fuel system cleaner
like Jectron III. I very rarely do any type of ail additive, rather I just
change my oil often and that’s usually good enough to clean the engine out.
I think most problems with buildup stem from not regularly servicing the
engine.

BOSS says:

Do you recommend Mobil 1 for a 97 540i m sport

snoboardin77 says:

Not bad but every oil change is basically the same you should add the
computer sequence that you are supposed to do so your oil light doesn’t
come on. And I saw your air intake and I was wondering where you got the
pipe for it cuz I got the afe for my 525i and it only came with a heat
shield and filter and it just doesn’t look right without an aftermarket air
pipe. And did u remove your maf sensor???

Joshua Jordan says:

Would you use Sea Foam in you BMW? If not what do you recommend?

The Car Life says:

Car was warm when I drained. Anytime you are draining fluids the car should
be a little warm. The fluids are thinner and drain easier.

The Car Life says:

It can’t hurt to give it a try. However, I have heard that Sea Foam damages
oxygen sensors which can be a real problem.
