In this video, I show you how to replace the headlight washers on my 2006 E90 BMW 330xi. BMW used these style washers on many of their cars, so the replacement process should be similar. It is common for the headlight washers to leak over time and deplete your washer fluid tank quickly. If you are always getting the warning to fill your washer fluid, these are probably the culprit.

Seems like a bad idea to replace this part, since it'll just fail again in a few years, and really isn't needed for most people in the first place. Bad design all around. Best fix seems to be to fold and tie the tube so that no more fluid can leak out. Cheap, easy and long-term fix.

Hey Justin! Your videos have always been such a great help. On my 2011 328xi, I noticed that after running the green rain X washer fluid the area right by the headlight washer cover is starting to have its clear coat peel. Do you think a leak and the rain x could have caused it to peel? Thanks for your time and all the effort you put into your videos. You’re definitely my fav BMW channel.

2:17 How did you just pull the whole unit out? I had to literally break one of the side clips with a flathead in order to pull it out.

Where do you buy the replacements ?

tryingtobebest says:

This is not fixing leaking nozzle its just replacing!!!! Rename!!

dougie says:

If only the two clips came out so easy. Spent well over an hour trying to get these out. One you can just about see through the wheel arch and can be unclipped with a screwdriver from the front of the bumper, and the other you have to feel for. There's no way you can just twist it out without fear of breaking the clips.

I need to replace it and you make it look so easy…lets try. Cheers!

Waterboy Hockey says:

Sorry bud, but I didn't really got it, so do I need to remove headlight, bumper or wheel to get access to headlight washer??

My cover was off and the washers are no longer popping up. Just purchased new ones on Amazon. (2006 325XI Wagon Manual) The link you have in your notes still works but the items are sold out. I found another one that is the same. Just want to make sure you get credit w/ the affiliate link. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the info and demonstration in the video. You do make owning a BMW fun and help put some control back into fixing stuff yourself. Thanks, Justin

Can you change the seals?

Justin, Thank you very much for your help. I had a guy in a body shop replacing my bumper .. he used a spring for the led.. now when you active it, it opens up.. splash.. and does NOT close! I'd have to close the covers manually.. is there like a piece that attached the nozzle to the cap? thnx
