BMW High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) Replacement DIY (BMW F30 – N20/N26 Engine)

BMW High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) Replacement DIY (BMW F30 – N20/N26 Engine)

►BMW high pressure fuel pumps, also known as HPFPs, are notorious for failures. If your BMW F30 powered by the N20 or N26 engine is struggling to turn over when starting or is sputtering at high speeds and acceleration, there’s a good chance the high pressure fuel pump is to blame, and you should replace it immediately.

In stock applications, you can expect the high pressure fuel pump in a BMW F30 to last well past 100,000 miles. However, this life expectancy can be lowered significantly from many different sources such as dirty fuel or running your fuel tank completely dry.

In todays video, Gareth Foley, our BMW Catalog Manager, shows you how to replace the HPFP on a 2013 F30 BMW 328i, as well as some other crucial components such as hard lines, cam followers, and gaskets. The kit highlighted in this video features the HPFP with the new connector, in which Gareth shows you how to splice it into the old harness.
