BMW F32 435i N55 Burger Tuning JB4 and bluetooth installation DIY

BMW F32 435i N55 Burger Tuning JB4 and bluetooth installation DIY

This is the full installation video for the Burger Tuning JB4 module, including the bluetooth adaptor and ODBC cable run.

The installation is into a 2014 BMW 435i F32 with a manual transmission, which does make the install a little different than the automatic transmission vehicles.

The installation is really straight forward if you work carefully and take your time. Let me stress again here as I did in the video: ALWAYS disconnect your battery before doing this work! DO NOT have the battery connected, as you can damage your ECU, JB4 or both!

I will be posting a separate review video of the JB4 mobile app and basic configuration and recommendations.

Required parts and tools:
JB4 with bluetooth module
10mm socket and wrench
small pick tool or flat bladed screwdriver
Wire fish (or metal clothes hanger)
electrical tape or heat shrink
plastic trim tool kit
JB 4 Mobile android or iPhone app installed

Great video, you may not know but its worth asking, would it be roughly the same for an N55 F30?

lsturbointeg says:

Shoot. My JB4 did not come with the OBD cable. Does that mean I don't have a way to change maps via column stick control?

antonioiribarren says:

Does the OBII cable needed since you are using the Bluetooth? Thank you

Eddie Ellison says:

So I have 3 red wires! Where do I tap for Bluetooth power?

Justin Pike says:

How does the JB4 get power?

Larryr says:

My bluetooth is too long and will not fit in the case like yours does:(

Forward cant Be stopped says:

No follow video???

garry santos says:

silicone spray will help it slide through the tight hole.less risk on damaging wires too.

Yoji Kozumi says:

Great detailed info and instructions thanks!

Alex H says:

What is the point of running that cable into the cabin if you already have the Bluetooth option? Does that serve a different purpose? Thanks

Jorge Margossian says:

Hey man, sorry for the question but, are there any warranty issues even if the jb4 is removed? I'm from Argentina

Max Richard says:

FYI – To remove the engine form hopefully intact, there is a front left post, a rear post, a front right post, a post about 2" right of center, and there's also a slit near the front right. 5 detachments points. If you put your hand under the foam and press up while pulling out, you can get it out in 1 piece. Like BMW DIY Guy said, there's probably a good reason for the foam. Personally I think it's to reduce engine noise and maybe rattles in the cabin. I'd love to hear from someone who does a "with foam" and "without foam" comparison.

Max Richard says:

I cannot thank you enough for this incredibly thorough guide. You taking the time to go through every step – and adding little 'tips' along the way was invaluable. Thanks to your efforts, you probably saved me a half day of second guessing myself and figuring out how to route stuff. You rock! All the best to you and yours!!

Noslen Viray says:

That's it void the warranty?

Third Honk says:

I have races on my f32 435i with a jb4 if you want to see it.

Junyi Yu says:

I’ve watched this video twice just to make sure I get familiarized with the process, just one question, do I still need the OBD2 CAN bus if I have Bluetooth kit installed? Since I can change my settings on iOS ? What does the obd 2 wire do? I didn’t read much about this online..
