BMW E90 N54 Oil Pan Gasket DIY

BMW E90 N54 Oil Pan Gasket DIY

A big thank you to https://www.oembimmerparts.com for sponsoring this video and providing the parts. Check them out if you’re looking to do this job.

The running joke is, it seems like every BMW leaks oil from the factory. Well, that’s not far off. BMW never seems to be able to fix the oil pan gasket they use on their 6 cylinder engines. Eventually the rubber goes hard and stops sealing properly and the thing leaks, and because the engine is mounted at an angle, the oil level is always above where the gasket sealing area is, so it leaks really badly. This problem usually develops after a certain mileage or number of years. Every BMW owner knows this and almost none of them have it fixed because it’s an expensive job. But you know what, it’s really not that hard to do yourself and I show you how in this video.

There's no way that removing the rack from its mounting points will effect the alignment. You will affect the alignment if you remove the tie rod ends of the rack . Never heard of that before
