►Our motorsport engineer, Cory, is here to show you how to fix one of the most infamous cooling system failures on the B8/B8.5 platform, and that is the thermostat and water pump.
Most notably the older B8’s are known for there leaky water pumps. In fact, Audi even has a “weep hole” in the water pump designed to let you know when it is time to change out the old one to prevent bearing failure. So if you are experiencing coolant loss or your engine thermostat is not operating correctly, it might be time to change out both items at once.
Since you have to remove the supercharger belt and accessory belt, Cory will also show you how to correctly install the new belts.
This DIY will be useful for any Audi with the 3.0T engine, although there may be some small discrepancies, the core of the process will remain the same.

So, the video says you need 2 gallons of coolant….but the kit only has one? Very confused. What is the coolant capacity? You're clearly draining the whole system by removing those hoses.
Do you have a kit like this that fits a 2014 Q5 3.0t? If so a link would be great. I would be doing the pcv as well while I'm at it… Thanks.
The serpentine belt diagram shown in the video is for a 3.2L engine, not the 3.0L supercharged. Do you know where I could find the 3.0L supercharged diagram.
Is this doable without getting under the car/service position?
Man this has to be the best video I've ever seen that makes me wish I didn't just give my 16' A7 that I just got to the shop to repair what they called a major coolant leak that requires the thermostat, pump, and hose to be replaced at a whopping $2300. Maybe I should have brought some tools and tried it myself.

audi has the biggest variety of screws/clips for the plastic undercarriage. Every time you lose one you can never find it at the local auto parts lol. Stressful
