You’d think it’s because you can get it done faster. but removing or at least pivoting it like a door out for the way will help with access for the repair and also wont risk damaging the radiator.
Typically it’s more like $1700 in labor and $300 in parts.

i was considering getting an A6 before this. i thought it would be easier to work on than an A4. i was very wrong
it’s a piece of junk anyways. general work you have to take off the entire front end.
Seems rushed I Take of the front end and clean every part I touch also I take off the cams and clean it properly for the tensioner gaskets

why did you leave the front end attatched with bungee cords , and not remove it completely?
