Before I replaced the motor and transmission in my wife’s van, I went through and re-gasketed mostly everything on the motor. I noticed with the J series, a lot of carbon gets built up in the EGR passages. I was pretty annoyed with the build up and decided to block off EGR to keep the intake cleaner. Unfortunately blocking EGR, it throws codes, which isn’t a problem but for whatever reason, it disables traction control which is nice to have snowy/rainy weather. I searched around on google how to fix this issue and came across a Acura forum where a gentleman created a bypass plate to trick EGR into thinking it’s working properly. I had a friend re-create this bypass plate in the hopes to fix my issue with EGR throwing codes. Lucky for me this bypass plate works! If you any of you are trying to bypass EGR without a tune, this my just work for you if you’re handy enough!
