I don't replace. mine just plugs out and so I just spray carb cleaner n plug it back in. I do this once a month. I shake it and can hear it clogged with oil. Once cleaned it feels lighter n clearly sounds unclogged.

I find that if the valve is dirty, engine becomes heavy, some engine knock occurs.

Some say to shake it and it should make some noise. If not noise definitely need to replace it.
