I’ve had this DC sport header for more than 10 years waiting for the day I got this car. The day has come and in this video I install this header onto my new GSR.
I’ve listed coverage of all Integras from 1990-2001 because the engines, even the non VTEC engines, are similar enough where the information covered will apply even though this is technically specific to the 2001 GSR model.

Thanks! The tips like how to get rusty or tricky bolts loose are super helpful.
Just a bit of advice, if you have exhaust work done at a shop, even if it's a reputable shop, always watch them do the work. I found this out the hard way as the shop decided to cut off the flange to the high flow cat converter and just weld the damn pipe all the way around. Now I have to cut the flange off of the new A pipe/flex pipe and fit it together with the old pipe as I don't have a welder myself. Otherwise this changing out the stock exhaust manifold over to a 4 to 1 racing exhaust header would be so much freaking easier…
Also helps to do this when you are doing the partial or complete rebuild when the radiator is removed, but not everyone will be doing that. I know for sure though that doing this on an Eagle Talon 2nd gen is much easier than on Honda's and Acura's, as there's less crap in the way…
Eric am having a problem I just put some DC Sport headers on my 1997 Acura integra LS and my problem is that my engine shakes too much and I got a check engine light on now can you please help?
12 point wrenches and sockets should only be used one 12 point bolts. And always use 6 point tools on Bleeder screws. Always!
what kind of motor
Thanks a bunch Eric. I really needed this video. I just found out my 99' GSR has a crack in the A pipe, and it's gonna need replacing. I love the videos keep them coming. Thanks again.
if it were a 4 into1 header, then you could have felt the difference for sure..!!!…love your stock/virgen Gsr..!!..well not quite virgen anymore..!!
eric why is there always coolant built up on the fan shroud on hondas?
Eric, you should do a video on how to paint the valve cover gasket!!
What if my fastener on the header has a broken end (what you ratchet on)? We ar just trying to do a oil pan gasket on 94 Teg LS AT., and since you don't seem to have a video on that, I am watching this. They say to loosen? to sag the headers so we can get at the oil pan. Now we have another stripped. If this is a stud will the header slide off once the nuts or cap things are removed?
If you would've just taken the radiator fan off you would not have to remove the slave cylinder.
I also replaced my oem exh mani with an aftermarket race header. The header is almost touching the oil pan should I be concerned of excessive oil heat
Hey Eric, newb question: are those spring bolts meant to be tightened down to the point that the coils touch, or would that be over-tightening?
you would have to put a whole exhaust on to get any performance
i can only explain this video as a waterfall of a honda knowledge. Good Job.
