How to hardwire dash cam to fuse box – Acura RDX

How to hardwire dash cam to fuse box of a 2019 Acura RDX or other similar Honda or Acura vehicles. The dash cam I am hardwiring is a Rexing V1 using a hardwire kit. By hardwiring into fuse box, the dash cam turns on and off with the start/stop of the car with no messy cords.

Here are the links to the items in the video:

Hardwire kit – Looks like Amazon no longer sells the kit I used, but here’s one that is almost identical. Make sure to get either a mini or micro USB cable depending on your camera. This one is for a mini USB:

Check out my other video detailing my chrome delete (blacking out the chrome trim) using vinyl wrap on my RDX here: https://youtu.be/IGHkS80QS5s

Worked beautifully! Thanks!

For everyone asking about the A-pillar, it's super easy, you don't even have to remove the whole thing.

Step 1: Pull the rubber trim moulding around the door and A-pillar back (super easy to put back).
Step 2: Gently pull from the top of the A-pillar (near the roof), a single tab should pop off, don't pull back or pull anymore once you pop the first tab.
Step 3: You should have plenty of room to run the cable behind the airbag

Thank you very much for sharing info. I did this myself today and it works pretty well.

Thanks, saved me hours of frustration.

Jose Paolo Mujar says:

Hi! Do you know which fuse I can connect if I have parking mode on my dash cam? so It will record depends on its feature.

Ernest Lawson says:

You still like dashcam

Marty Gufler says:

I wanted to see how to remove the pillar panel. Did someone else do that for you? Otherwise I would have expected you to record that.

G M says:

Hey boss quick question.. by hardwiring your new acura rdx do you think would void the warranty if something went wrong ?

Jef T says:

Great video. I have the RDX as well. Wish you had filmed portion of you removing panel where airbag is located. I’m a little hesitant on messing with that. Thanks.

Does your start-stop function still work?
I noticed after I hardwired my dash cam
My start-stop stopped working. I used the accessory (10A) and sunroof fuse (20A)

Alan W. says:

Since you used the option slot you didn't need to double up on the fuses. This slot provides power and is not connected to any other accessories. So only 1 fuse for the camera is needed.

EroSennin Jiraiya says:

I have the same car but my kit came with 3 wires GND, battery and ACC
Which one goes to the fuse and what do you do with the other one?

Also mine did it come with a fuse tap cable
Do you know what kind of fuse the RDX uses?

Bnha Ahm says:

Thanks. Not that many DYI on YT for the 2019 Acura RDX. I got the A-spec.

remedyxmoa says:

Hello, can you tell me the fuse size? Is it mini? Low profile?

Derek Dukhu says:

Hey I'm going to attempt this on my 2020 RDX and wanted to ask about the a-pillar removal. Did you disconnect the car battery by any chance? I heard some people do this as a precaution as the airbags are a sensitive area, kinda worried about that. The fuses are low profile minis I believe?

Mr.Blanco says:

does this have constant power

Catholic Marathon Mom says:

Wow! Bet you’ll be getting tons of “special orders” from enthusiasts wanting this in their cars too!
